A story of a girl who had lost her home and how the family had worked together to save money to buy this new furniture, a soft chair!

This book is a caldecott winning book as it reflects the lives/ experiences of different children from various socio- economic.

A chair for my mother is a book about a family who loses most of their possessions in a house fire. After they loose things in the fire they save money as a family to buy a nice big comfortable chair for their new home that they will enjoy. This book won the Caldecott honor award. I recommend this book because the illustrations are nice. I also enjoy the book because it has a good plot, it shows families, friends and neighbors helping one another for a great cause.
