I chose this book for a movement/physical education/nonfiction reading lesson for Transitional reader lesson plan. Firebird has beautiful pictures to go along with a motivational story. Misty Copeland paves her way through dance and becoming a ballerina despite her background and everyone around her putting her down. This book is a fun and inspirational introduction into movement and what your body can do.
