"A Different Pond" is a 2018 Caldecott Honor Book that explains an unforgettable story about a simple yet meaningful event: a long-ago fishing trip. Bringing illustrations mostly seen in graphic novels, graphic novelist Thi Bui captures readers with her detailed pictures while poet Bao Phi brings readers a powerful, honest glimpse into a relationship between father and son―and between cultures, old and new.
