One aspect that I admire about this book, especially reading to children, is the factor of finding beauty in places that we wouldn't consider beautiful. Though with more dialogue, this read-aloud can allow teachers to explore the different vocabulary seen in this book.

The Last Stop on Market Street is about CJ and his grandma going on the bus and meeting different people on the way to the soup kitchen. This book won the 2016 Newbery Medal. I would recommend this book because the children can learn about the diversity in the world and also about being grateful. I think a teacher can use this book when he or she is teaching about families, diversity or being grateful.
