This was a book I fell in love with the moment I read it. It is the telling of a true story, of two male penguins in a zoo who do not behave "normally", and live together as a couple. Despite this, and always being together, they are not happy. Their zookeeper sees this, and gives them an egg, which they care for and raise, creating their own family.

This book won the American Library Association Notable Children's book award.

I recommend this book largely because of its inclusion of LGBT famili

This story is about two penguins Silo and Roy who are both male penguins that fall in love. They desperately want to hatch and raise a chick but cannot as neither can lay an egg. The zookeepers eventually give them an egg to hatch and through their equal partnership of sitting and caring for the egg they hatch and raise Tango just like all the other penguins.
