[close] This book is an early reader book due to the illustrations, color, and easy reading. The book shows illustrations of a variety of different things. From missing teeth, feelings, families, and size to having a pet worm. The book has a nice note from the author at the end which sends a positive message about diversity. It is humorous and fun for the children to read or just look at the illustrations. This book was recommended to me by the librarian at the school I work.

As a teacher this book would be very useful for creating different types of lesson plans for early readers. The illustrations are easy for early childhood because they are developmentally appropriate for the age. Also, a great reading experience would be a picture walk with the children first to see the meaning they find in the pictures. I feel this lesson would yield many different meanings due to the environment experiences of the children.

An extension lesson using this book would to bring different cultures into the classroom with the help of family members. A great way would be to have the children ask their families about something they could come to school to demonstrate. Example a different way they have family dinners, holidays, even pets.
