I have to admit, though not as good as Throne of Glass, it is to be suspected, and anyway, it came up fairly close. I thought it was a tad too...well slow really. I would have appreciated more fight scenes rather than stalking, talking, sleeping, etc. I thought that the author kind of killed of Nehemia in a strange manner. Before she "kicked the bucket" as one might say, she rarely appeared in the novel, and when she did she would nought but criticise, lecture or act coley towards Caleana. Meh.
