I read this one immediately after finishing the first book and I admit I had to take a break about 1/3 of the way through. Like the first book, Heir starts out very dark (lots of rape, child sexual assault albeit none of it done via first-person or very graphically). I found the darkness rather oppressive and needed to take a break.

OMG! I need Queen of the Darkness! I want more of Daemon! This book was wonderful but it didn't have enough of him. Although I did enjoy getting to know Lucivar more, and I just love Saetan, he makes me laugh. And Jaenelle is epic in this one.
