It's official. I am in love with this trilogy. This book follows directly on from the last and does not disappoint. Yelena manages to get into the same trouble she did in the first while attempting to learn about her magic. I was very interested in her brother Leif, and his motivations for the way he behaved when she returned and while the book attempted to give some answers to it, I'm not satisfied. I was a fool to think that after Poison Study, Magic Study would be a sinch... Pfft I was soo wrong!! This book was fantastic. I found myself daydreaming about it and ignoring people cause I was too busy with my head in Sitia with Yelena.
Magic Study, though, at least lets you take a breath for a few chapters before plunging you into the action, and again with the neck ache.

I was so sad to see Yelena forced from Ixia, Valek, her new friends Ari and Janco and what she finally considered home at the end of Poison Study. Now I know the necessity to avoid an execution order, and to learn more about her family and magical capabilities was important, but did her and Valek have to be split apart after it took them so long to get together? Sheesh!

If you liked Poison Study then you must read Magic Study, it is the continuation of Yelena's story. I loved it!
