If you ask anyone who saw me during the week I read this brilliant series, they would’ve told you I looked feverish and crazed. It was so hard to peel my eyes away from the pages that I put off writing a paper and skipped classes until I read through to the end. The last book that had this spellbinding effect on me was Twilight (book 1) and before that, Harry Potter. Yelena is the most compelling female character and could probably give Aragorn a good fight.
I happened upon this book by accident but am so glad I read it. I'm also glad that it was part of a series. I've actually met Maria V. Snyder and she is a nice lady. She is really down to earth and I love her story of writing Poison Study and getting it published. It is a great action/adventure story with a strong woman lead character. There is a romance, but it doesn't overshadow the plot line.

I love this book.... it is one of my favorites. I love Yelena and her desire for survival, I love Valek...Well what can I say about him! I rarely own books and this series is one of my most favorites. It was fun reading this book again after a few years.
A fabulous book! I love the idea of a poison taster and the fact that she is being hunted down is very exciting. There is even a touch of romance in this, which we all know appeals to me. I loved this book.
This book was super! I was pulled in immediately. It was an excellent love story but the meat of the novel focuses on Yelena and her struggle to overcome her horrible fate. I can't wait to read Magic Study.

I very much enjoyed this book. I heard myself saying those laws suck poor thing was abused. I have to get my hands on the next book!
