This is one of my ultimate favorites so I cannot use words to describe my feelings.
The biggest thing I can say is that Maria V. Snyder has a gift constructing her characters.
There is the kick-ass female lead. Strong, brave, but not unrealistic, and a little bit of appropriate attitude.
Then there are the male characters:
Despite the presence of many men totally swoon-worthy there is always one clear male romance lead.
There are others introduced, and you can love all of them, but despite everythi

By now I've read Poison Study (Study #1) by Maria V. Snyder so many times I have lost count, and it's equally good every time.

Even through I've read the book many times before it still captures me the same way, I can't put the book down once I've started.

I love the whole plot and the characters, those are some strong characters. A lot is happening throughout the whole story without becoming crowded with events. I've become quite glad for Snyder's writing style, it's very straight without overdon

Point 1: My cover is different, but I can live with that ;) still prefer mine though.

Point 2: The Review.

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG, I absolutely ADORE this trilogy (now a series AHHHHHHH!!!!) The world is complete perfection and I love every single character - yes, even the bad ones.
The harmony between the world building and the story is a rare thing, but Maria V Snyder has achieved this perfectly. I can still pick this book up from any page and get sucked in immediately, which for me is a s

The writing style wasn't particularly sophisticated, and the plot was quite predictable, but there was something about this book that made me devour it. Like most others, I absolutely adore Valek and Yelena's relationship, and the fact that Yelena is able to hold her own without constantly relying on others for help.

I'm currently about halfway through the second book, but it's just not as good as Poison Study.
