I needed the lightness of this book after Mercy Thompson, and I was not disappointed. The tone was refreshing, a good mashup of urban fantasy and historical romance, with likable characters that are fun to hang out with, buoyed by a talented​ narrator (all those accents!) . The only downside is the mystery case of the book, those parts were boring, there was little suspense buildup and the villains were dreadfully dull (in my best Alexia Tarabotti British accent). This is such a fun book to read. I loved it! This is my second time reading it and I enjoyed it so much more the second time around. I think it has something to do with my history studies at the moment. Learning all about the Victorian era. I wanted to re read it before reading the second one because I didn't really remember the story. I love the supernatural law in the world that has been created. I wanna give this one 3.5 stars. Soulless is very different from what I usually read. I am not used to the Victorian period. I found it refreshing, funny and smart. I liked the concept of a preternatural, I found it very unique. The character interaction between Alexia and Lord Maccon was fantastic. I found myself chuckling at the two of them bantering at each other. It was very interesting and entertaining how their romance developed.
