I needed the lightness of this book after Mercy Thompson, and I was not disappointed. The tone was refreshing, a good mashup of urban fantasy and historical romance, with likable characters that are fun to hang out with, buoyed by a talented narrator (all those accents!) . This is such a fun book to read. I loved it! This is my second time reading it and I enjoyed it so much more the second time around. I think it has something to do with my history studies at the moment. Learning all about the Victorian era. I wanna give this one 3.5 stars. Soulless is very different from what I usually read. I am not used to the Victorian period. I found it refreshing, funny and smart. I liked the concept of a preternatural, I found it very unique. The character interaction between Alexia and Lord Maccon was fantastic. I thought it was finally time to finish this book, and I'm glad I finally did. :D Carriger manages to successfully combine alternate history, paranormal romance and steampunk. I look forward to the rest of this series.
