LOVED IT! I listened to this one - the reader, Emily Gray was excellent. I laughed out loud. It's set in Victorian London where Vampires and Werewolves are a part of high society. My only complaint - I can't find the sequel on Audible.com and I don't think I'll be able to read this series now that I've listened to Emily...it wouldn't be the same!

Loved it!
There's something about a heroine who is neither prim nor proper, who speaks her mind and isn't afraid to be herself.
There is also something about partly-Scottish large brooding men spending spending some of the narrative naked. Yum.
I also have to commend Ms. Carriger on a cast of supporting characters who were well developed and greatly add to the story- from the stereotypical but apt mother plus 2 step-sisters to the fabulous vampire friend. Too often the minor characters are an afte ...more

Eh, I heard so many great things about this book, maybe I just had really high hopes. But I am a few chapters in and I am just not liking it - I think I have a problem with "getting" the British humor. I will keep reading, hopefully, it will pick up soon.

This was a fun novel that had such a interesting twist.. it took me a little to get into it and when I did I could not put it down. I look forward to the next one.
Had to return this to the library before finished. I'll go back to it later.
