I just love a good love story, don’t you? I especially love when the story takes place on “foreign soil.” It makes me feel like I’m vicariously broadening my horizons. Mette thoughtfully took international readers like me into consideration when writing a Note from the Author, located at the beginning of the book. She removed the need for me to look up measurement “translations,” but more importantly, I loved the glimpse into her imagination. While the sleepy town of Solvik may not have its own ...more

A stand-alone read!

I enjoy reading books about women who take chances and move on with their lives. Mette Barfelt accomplished this effectively with her main character, Bettina.

Mette's character's, setting, and cuisine descriptions pulled me in. Quite honestly, this is a difficult book to write a review about since I don't want it to be a spoiler.
