This is the most beautiful book I have ever read and I will not be able to get this book out of my system. The descriptions and the narrative style of this book, although atleast fifty years old, is too good and will not let you leave the book till you have turned the last page.
The story relates to me very closely as well in terms of the thinking process of the boy. I am grateful to Salinger for writing such a book.

The Catcher in the Rye is not everyone's cup of tea. However, I could relate myself back to my school days as most of the incidents faced by the protagonist Haulden, absolutely holds true to every child. The author made the protagonist directly talk to the reader about his childhood. Almost all of the story is one long flashback of this three day period with occasional references to the present.
