This was the second time I started reading the book, but I'm glad I stuck with it and finished it this time. There were fewer gruesome deaths in this book, but a lot of plans were made and many threads set free along different tracks, in preparation for what is to come. On one end, the Mother of Dragons battles with her own thoughts about wanting to stay and protect her cities vs wanting to march down to Westeros to claim her throne.
