Regardless of what you think about Philippa Gregory, she is a great storyteller, and this book did not disappoint. I know that she is not long on historical accuracy, I know that she embellishes and invents. I also know that this story was a page turner from beginning to end.

This book is the story of the demise of Katherine of Aragon as Queen of England, and the rise of Anne Boleyn, as told through the voice of Anne's sister Mary. It is a story fraught with romance, lust, political intrigue....

I can honestly say that I am not a big history buff. My extent of reading about history can be summed up with Egyptian history and the history of the civilization of men. I started this book not expecting much and to my surprise was very pleasantly surprised. The suspense, the rich choice of vocabulary, the perfect protrayel of human nature, all mixed up with honest-to-God real-life history makes this book a thrill to read.

I will be reading lots and lots of Ms. Gregory's other works :)

It took me a while to finish this book but I really enjoyed it. It is a very long book but it keeps you entertained. The story is one I know quite well as I love the Tudor history, but Philippa Gregory makes it seem brand new. I was still shocked and excited by things that were happening in the book. The Boleyn family were one of the most interesting in British history, they had such determination and became highly regarded in court, I now want to read even more about them.

Overall I really liked this book. I love the never ending trill of not knowing what will happen next. I also think the book was an easy read and a fun read. I would have loved to have known how Anne and her family lived the rest of their lives.
