Sicuramente un gran classico, lo stile di Pasternak è affascinante e coinvolgente, anche se ho trovato le parti sulla rivoluzione un po' pesanti. Stupende le descrizioni dei luoghi e degli stati d'animo dei personaggi...ho preferito di gran lunga i personaggi femminili, non sono davvero riuscita ad affezionarmi a Zivago.

I'm glad I read this but I was a little disappointed with it. It was like Tolstoy in breadth but patchy in style, without the same consistently good writing.
Of course Tolstoy is a hard act to follow and it isn't just because they were both Russian that I'm comparing the two. Doctor Zhivago seems to aim at doing for the Russian Revolution what War and Peace did for the Napoleonic War.
There are so many unlikely coincidences that it has to be read more like a fable than the story of one man, but ...more
