i really did not get the sweeping majestic saga that this was supposed to be. SImply a confusing mish mash of names and difficult to follow story lines. The footnotes telling you one street had another name did nothing to add to the flow of the story and the poetry in translation was totally lost. However i did get through it and some of the characters drew my attention.
