I believe this is the book that Lehane is famous for, although I have read ALL of Lehane's books and they are equally as good.
This is a story of friendship, betrayal and misunderstanding.
I might also add, the movie stays very close to the book.

I really enjoyed this novel. The mystery, the characters, the twisted relationships. What a great story! I will definitely be looking into more of Dennis Lehane's work.

This book might be the best mystery I've read. Now, the field isn't that deep as I don't read many mysteries. But the book managed to keep a plot-driven pacing while deeply exploring the inner lives of the three main characters and creating full, rich side characters. As a refreshing sidenote, the women in this book aren't all nimrods. While the women aren't main characters, the reader does get some knowledge of the intimate relationships of the men and the women in the book have individual pers
