This was an exceptionally interesting book about a very unique culture where the sea-diving women supported the families while the husbands tended the babies. I enjoyed learning the history of this part of Korea and loved the characters and story.

Very interesting part of history that I never knew about. I loved how the story wove between past and present with the pieces all coming together. I loved the strength and flaws of the characters. They were very believable. I loved the cultural richness. The story is well written and pulled me in from the beginning.
