Really 2.5 stars.
It seems that current fiction formats (written in emails, numerous viewpoints, etc.) get incredible love and hate buzz from readers on this site. But lately I’ve become aware of the changes taking place in nonfiction. This is broadly referred to as “creative” nonfiction. Even in skilled hands such books can and do fail. But if we love the author we read them anyway.

I thought this was a pretty interesting look at WWII. I guess I never thought about the how the war affected animals in the region and zoos in Europe. It was heart breaking at times, but overall I found it to be a very inspirational story.
It was a good book overall but the ending was fast tracked and a little weird.

i really enjoyed this book. It showed in a very different way the lives and sacrifices of those involved in saving jews from the holocaust
Quite an interesting read! I was not aware of any of this occurring and enjoyed learning about a different side of the war.
