This book was well-written, with interesting research and compelling characters. But honestly, it was a little boring. It was just way too long (almost 500 pages!) and seemed to go on and on. There were almost too many characters and storylines. Although parts of it were historical, it wasn't as focused on the historical storylines as I would have liked, or at the very least even the historical storylines seemed mostly modern, but with little bits and pieces thrown in to make it clear they were

A tangled story, that slowly unfolds, that leaves no mystery unanswered.
It's a story in a story in a story. At the center of it all is Birchwood Manor, said to be a magical place from a childhood story, protected by fairy energy. Throughout history, many people get to Birchwood Manor and interact with its energy and from 1862 to 2017, we get to meet them all.
Their stories are entangled, even though most of them don't even know about it :)
