I read an ARC of this book and am grateful to Netgally and the publishers for the chance to do so. From the outset you can tell it is a Kate Morton book, the writing is so symbolic of her style. There is so much in this book for readers to like. It is historical fiction, a ghost story and a mystery all at once. At the beginning it labours a little - like someone giving birth. I just LOVE this author! I read my first Kate Morton novel, The House at Riverton, almost 10 years ago and fell in love with her writing! She is a brilliant storyteller, that sucks you completely into the story she weaves and tugs at your heartstrings in just the right way. There is often a great tragedy at the center of the story, yet you feel very at peace at the end of the book, as the story has finally been told in its entirety.
