This is a real cacophony of book. Many powerful voices in the characterisation and story telling but so difficult to keep up with and enjoy as a pure read.
It's been a long time since I read anything by Toni Morrison, but I've enjoyed everything I've read--or if not precisely enjoyed, I've appreciated everything I've read, as her books might not be described as fun.
Song of Solomon was no exception: difficult events, characters who developed over the course of the book, revealing different ways of understanding events if we first learned one perspective, then another.
