I never know whether to give 4 or 5 stars, but today I'm generous.
Wolf Hall is a brilliant novel. Is all historical fiction like this? Somehow I doubt it. Mantell's interest lies not in period accuracy (although I'm sure it is) or historical glorification, but in the workings of human beings in a tumultuous period. By using present tense narrative, she thrusts us right into the machinations of 1530s Tudor England.

Honestly I found this a bit of a drag at times, parts were very engaging, others not so much so a so so read for me.
I struggled through this book, like the story, but it really was hard to read... just my opinion....
One chapter in and I already know this will be a five star book.
