This is not your regular spy novel, and protagonist Juliet Armstrong is not your average spy.

Transcription is a story based on real events during World War II but also includes a lot of creative license, which Atkinson writes about at the end. 

I have mixed feelings on this one. It's compelling, interesting, and at times a lot of fun. Juliet is a winsome protagonist, in my opinion. She's both witty and sarcastic and at times hilarious in her blunt observations of what's happening to her and what'
