I thought this was brilliant. Very convincing, at least to an outsider. I enjoyed all the historical detail and found it very easy to read. It flowed smoothly like a stream.
The geisha seems to flow slowly and gracefully as she moves along her chosen path and that is the way Arthur Golden's novel Memoirs of a Geisha moves. The pace is slow and graceful unwinding like a low land river with nothing hurried or rushed. It is the story about a young Japanese girl is sold to an okiya or a geisha house. She would eventually become a geisha by the name of Sayuri.
