I had heard nothing but good things about this series from several groups I am in. I was a bit weary since I have never read any steampunk before, but it was a wonderful book. It was almost if Dead Until Dark was set in victorian England. The protagonist was plunky and the banter witty. Werewolves and Vampires are now a part of society and work with the government and Alexia was the antidote so to speak.
