A compelling dystopian novel in which women suddenly develop a lethal power that gives them the edge over men. The "battle of the sexes" soon becomes more like a civil war.

Gender is a shell game. What is a man? Whatever a woman isn't. What is a woman? Whatever a man is not. Tap on it and it's hollow. Look under the shells: its not there.
Mixed feelings about this one. Parts are really good and powerful and the basic concept is fascinating. I thought some aspects were very nuanced and complex (for example, the above quote) and the basic premise that power of course is about power. Power in the search of power, power in the service of power, self-fulfilling.
