Have you ever had a book that you wanted to read but never seemed to pick it up? Well The Secret Life of Bees was that book for me. And, now, for the life of me, I cannot fathom why it took me so long to read this wonderful book! Maybe I needed to be ready to read it?

I hated this. Normally I would rate something that i could not finish due to taste at a 2, but I loathed this, and couldnt bring myself to not only listen to more than 1 disc but also rate it higher than a single star.
I hated the teenaged drama, the father... I didnt even get to the religious aspect every review on here talks about. I have other books that i am more excited about to get to.

Just finished it. I really liked the story and the characters.
I was interesting to watch the story unfold and I know my thoughts about the characters changed as I read the book.

A little hard to get into, but was glad to finally finish this. I tried many years ago when it came out, and didn't do it, so I am happy to have accomplished it this time around.

I enjoyed reading this book. I liked the analogies, some hidden some obvious. The humanness of the characters came through easily; each had an individual and imperfect voice.
This was a great book. I really enjoyed it. It was a nice coming of age book. There were tons of facts about bees.
Very easy read. Read it in 2 days. Not great, but good.
