Interesting combo, librarian/spy. This is the second book in the series, and this time Irene the librarian has to travel deep into Chaos to try and save her apprentice, who has Dragon heritage and is beyond the reach of his family. While reading this you have a feeling that you know how it is going to end, but how it gets there is the fun bit: involving a Train with a personality, a powerful and evil Fae couple, and a Dragon. Suspend your disbelief and give it a go!

I picked this one up from the library book sale. I also read the first page of reviews and maybe, I read a different book? I liked it. My only drawback is she ended on a cliffy. Really? A cliffy in an urban fantasy book?

These books throw everything and the kitchen sink into these worlds. My head spins, and yet I keep wanting to follow. In this installment, I was particularly struck by the concept of the powerful among the Chaos-driven fae who bend reality and events around them to fit their views of themselves as story archetypes fulfilling their narratives. Now who does that remind me of?

I liked the first in the series better. There is little in this related to the library or books, more it has strayed to the people, faes and dragons and their needs for supremacy. It is till a well written and pacy novel
