I have finally caved in and decided to read the Potter series, partly to see what all the fuss is about and partly to see if it is really worth the all the hype. I must say I did enjoy a little more than I expected however that's not saying much as after subjecting myself to the hype covered Twilight I was cynical about it to say the least. I love the Harry Potter books! This is a special book in the series. I love this one most because it shows us all the magic of the world through Harry's eyes for the first time. It also lays the ground work for this wonderful, suspenceful, series. I challenge everyone to read this to lood beyond the words and really dive into the story and the characters in depth. It is a completely different story when you do that!

I enjoyed this more than I expected to - and since I enjoy fantasy and magic, I don't know why I was so reluctant, altho I think it had something to do with expecting to be disappointed after all the hype. But it was fun, it was realistic about behaviors of pre-teens, and solving problems needed cooperation and teamwork by the students, which made Harry part of a team in more than name, and I think was one of the main draws for me.
