What Members Thought
Angie Thomas is doing a service to middle age white women like me, to try to help us understand a narrative that we have no way to experience from our perch of white privilege. But beautiful writing, detail, plot, and character is good for all readers to understand any story and life circumstance. Angie Thomas most certainly did not write her book for me. I had real problems with this book and I am going to finish my review before i decide on my rating.
No 1 - I am NOT a black American - I am NOT even American - and I am no longer in y TEENs - it is a long time since i was a teenager. I don't know why the author feels i will know the lingo - I was so sick of reading the word"props" and not knowing what it meant. how hard would it have been to let the reader know what the terminology meant
No 2 it started off well but Oh lord it was repetitive
