What Members Thought
Initially after finishing this book, which contains both "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking Glass" I felt that I liked the Wonderland story better than Looking Glass one. The thing is, I'm not really sure why. It might be because the Wonderland portion of the book is more familiar to me. Or just that I didn't understand all of the chess subplay in the Looking Glass portion of the book. The second story just seemed to be more contrived to me (if that makes any sense). I f

4/10. While I absolutely love the charming concept and romantic backstory of AAiW & ThLG, the content of the stories themselves failed to impress me. I actually enjoyed the introduction more than the stories; the introduction gives a great background of the author (REALLY interesting facts most people probably don't know) and the inspiration for his works.

I really thought i was going to love this book as much as i love Peter Pan. But from almost the moment she opened her mouth I hated Alice, so melodramatic, perhaps the most melodramatic character in the history of literature. I did still love the mad hatter and the March Hare- they were always my favorite characters from the plethora of movies they've made from this book.
