The fourth book in the Miss Julia series. Julia is worried about Sam acting strangely, sending her flowers and poetry. Then Julia's housekeeper Lillian is about to be evicted from her house so her landlord can build a water bottling plant. Julia comes up with a scheme to raise money to save the houses on Lillian's street. This series is always a lot of fun. This is an amusing instalment in the series. Miss Julia has to ride on a motorcycle to raise money for charity. The charity is a question of saving the homes of her servant Lillian and her neighbours who, it's pretty clear, are not white. The downside of this book is the way these characters are shown as innocent and gullible to the extent of being almost like children.
