The fourth of the Sookie Stackhouse series and Harris just keeps getting better and improving on the story, characters and society that she has created. This story starts with Bill heading off to Peru and Eric turning up half naked with amnesia (oh how I love Eric with amnesia!!!), thus dragging Sookie into yet another underworld dispute, this time with a coven of evil shape shifting, V drinking witches intent on taking over Eric's businesses in Shreveport.

Sookie is driving home from a New Years Eve Party at merlotte's when she finds a nearly nude Eric running down the road. It turns out Eric's memory has been erased due to a witches curse. Sookie finds herself very attracted to this kinder, gentler Eric. This story was definitely more focused than the last book in the series. What did I learn from this book? Only that I'm going to read all the rest of the series. Easy, entertaining, holiday read. Perfect!

This book was a good read, a nice comeback from the dreadful Club Dead. I liked the introduction of other supes, but I found the whole Jason disappearance thing irksome. I adore Eric's character; he's always an entertaining one no matter the circumstances. MINI SPOILER ALERT At the end, I was kinda hoping Sookie would confess to him that they'd had sex, explosive sex, with the hopes that they'd do it again, one last time for memory's sake (pun intended).

I liked this one a lot. That may have something to do with the fact that it focused on Eric a lot though...and he wasn't a douche.
