The roshomon style of mutiple views from multiple people was fine, although there were too many characters, and I got confused. The audobook was not helped by being read by the author, who could drone.
There seems to be a trend in books to introduce as many characters as possible, have them all tell their stories but have no clearly identifiable time line. This book veers through time,backwards and forwards in a dizzying array of personal stories. Some of it just bored me - months of someone in a motel talking to no-one with their story going nowhere. However eventually little things begin to add up to the crux of the tale and the reveal was certainly interesting and unexpected.
