One of my friends told me that I just had to read this book...I did not really like the movie (everyone is shocked when I say that I did not cry) and usually do not enjoy sappy love stories but figured I would read it anyway...all in all it was pretty good and I suppose I would reccommend.
although sparks books are so formulaic (mostly someone dies in the end, etc), this story is just so sweet and heartbreaking.
The love story of Noah and Allie who fall in love over one summer as teenagers. They reunite years later when Allie comes to Visit Noah before her upcoming wedding. I can see why some people would think this was too sappy but I like the story and the ending had me crying buckets.
Loved the book, liked the movie. One thing I can't stand, though, is how Nicholas Sparks' books frequently include a woman emotionally "cheating" on her current boyfriend/fiance in order to discover her true love. This goes against all I believe in regarding relationships. Yes, it's always a wonderful love story, but do we have to have the woman have two love interests? Really?

This is another great one by Sparks. He has a way of writing very simple and easy for the reader. He is a master of placing you right in the middle of a scene where you can almost smell the smells, feel the feeling, see the sights. I loved this book like I loved “The Wedding” .
