This is one of those books that develops slowly, drawing you in, and then starts to gather momentum until you want to do anything to turn the characters from paths they are walking because you can see exactly where they're leading and it's nowhere good. I listened to this on audio and when finished did something I have never done before, started listening to it all over again. Initially I gave it 3 stars as even though I enjoyed it, I was still confused and had many unanswered questions. By the end of the second "reading" I had added another star. I think the author is awfully clever and I look forward to reading more of Margaret Atwood's novels.

Beautifully written. Margaret Atwood has the power to create passion with her words even when her characters might lack the same. I'm a fan.
