I really enjoyed the writing style of this book - unique, quirky, so descriptive that you can almost see the scene in your mind. The plot was also good, but felt a little far-fetched and pat at the end - there was the One Answer For All The Unanswered Questions - kind of like a Disney movie. Overall, I would recommend this book highly simply for how smart the writing is, and how you can almost taste some of the descriptions.
This was a fast paced book with a huge amount of literary references. Great for "readers". It was both a coming of age story and a great mystery with characters you enjoyed spending time with.

At first I thought I would enjoy the book. It's smart and ambitious. I have to confess though that it did not hold my interest and I did not finish reading the book.
