I read this book over and over and over again-my friends and I were truly obsessed. It's funny now to hear that there is so much criticism about this book's veracity as a diary. I guess I never really thought about that as a tween/teen-I never wondered if it was true or not-I didn't really even think about it I guess. It is pretty sad because you can tell by reading her diary, that she really loved her family. They were a strong family. The parents were together. The girl seems to be like an average teenager. So, you try and figure out what could have possibly gone wrong with this young teenage life? My thought is, p ...more

i remember reading this book ages ago. it was very good, and could easily be any teenager. i mean, it's still on my bookshelf, that should say something that it survived two moves. it's not exactly a light read, but it's still a good one. ...more

Quite interesting, very fast. I wouldn't have picked it up had it not been for a reading challenge. Interesting read from a teenager's point of view in the 1960's. ...more
