This the first novel I have read which has been written by E.M Foster.It is a book which is easy to read and one will finish the book quite fast cause it will keep you riveted to what will happen next is Lucy's life.Lucy changes her thoughts and behavior as she gets exposed to a life outside the walls of her house at Windy Corner.From a girl who is guided by her elders on what she should think,say and do, she finally takes the bold step of going against into a matrimony where she would never hav ...more

The book started off very slow and I found myself feeling like I was reading a less refined (in terms of language style) version of "Pride and Prejudice", which I didn't enjoy. However, the second part of the novel really picked up the slack. I enjoyed the fast pace plot that developed in Part II and I enjoyed Forsters' style of writing in the end. At moments it was comical and I enjoyed the times he speaks to the reader very openly.

this is the true definition of a vacuum. Nothing happens in the narrative, the characters are sycophantic nobodies and the reader is bored to the pint of coma
