What Members Thought
This is often cited as one of those all time great classics but, while it is well written with an easy smooth flow, I can honestly say it is not really for me. I wasn't that keen on any of the characters, particularly Emma, as I couldn't realte to any of them and found them to be somewhat shallow and far too interfering. I first read this book in high school and hadn't touched it again until now. My star rating has been bumped up by 2; I'm sure it was more difficult for me to find the humor in this book when I was much younger. I really love listening to Jane Austen's books performed by an excellent narrator like Juliet Stevenson. It sometimes feels like I'm listening to an episode of Downton Abbey.
