If you can, do this book as an audiobook.
Amy narrates and has fun guests - Kathleen Turner as bad Amy is a standout. Her voice is just so full of character and life, only amplified as she reads her own words. I can't even tell you how many times I burst out laughing - her delivery key to many of these moments.
4.28.24: I think listening to the prologue should be required listening for writers, especially midlife writers struggling with overthinking. ...more

Review to come...maybe.

I pickec this up at a barnes and noble during a fundraiser for my daughters school and I really wanted to contribute, but I rarely buy books from book stores cause they are hella expensive! I randomly walked by this and was like "we like amy poehler, we'll both read this so it won't be a waste".
I knew I would like it but I didn't expect how self depricating she could be mixed with natural ego. It was interesting and refreshing and funny and im glad I walked by that table at barnes and noble. ...more

I am sooooooo glad I chose to listen to the audio book instead of reading this one. It was so enjoyable to listen to so many voices. I loved Patrick Stewart reading poetry about plastic surgery. Loved it. Could not turn it off.
