I listened to this on audio...and it was really fun. First off, it's read by Wil Wheaton - which is perfect! There are not many things that make me laugh out loud, but this book had me laughing at several points. I'm not sure it would have if I hadn't had Wil talking it through.

I tagged this book as fantasy only because it had fantasy role play inside the OASIS. There are no fantasy elements in the 'real world' of this novel - it's strictly sci-fi.

I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I had resisted reading it because it was sooooo popular and usually those are the books that fail to live up to the hype for me. However, I finally took the plunge and picked it up. Since I have some slmall amount of experience with a virtual world online and I like puzzles/contests, this book was right up my alley, so to speak.

There was a lot I liked about this book, and somethings I didn't like. It was unfortunate that the main character fell into the latter category. Super cool concept though, and I couldn't wait to find out what came next. ...more
