Well, that was disappointing...

I'm gonna warn you guys, and you should take it seriously as a fair warning:

Do NOT read this book and/or review if you haven't read the ENTIRE Maze Runner Trilogy.

Just don't if you're planning on reading the trilogy. At least not if you don't want to get spoilers for the whole three books.

I really enjoyed this book. It wasn't as good as the series that I read last year, but it did explain a few things. Full of action & no weighty descriptive passages. It's a page-turning, adventure/thriller.

This can be read independently, but I'd recommend reading "The Maze Runner" series before this book. If you don't like the series, post-apocalypta or YA fiction, I wouldn't bother with this one.

I gave 5 stars to the first book in this series, 4 stars to books 2 and 3, and I really can't justify more than 3 stars for this one. I think the newness of the plot set-up has worn itself out, and the author is not sure where to go next.

This is a prequel, and I'd hoped for a little insight into Wicked's work, including what led them to decide that setting up the maze would help find a solution to "the flare". But this went farther back, to the sun flares that devastated the earth and the actua

This book is the prequel to the Maze Runner trilogy. It was a very enjoyable read for me as I still had so many questions here and there regarding the series and how it all came to be. This book was great for answering all that.

It was interesting to get to know all new characters, and as usual the author James Dashner has done a terrific job creating interesting and colourful characters that you care about. I definetly recommend this book to anyone who has read the trilogy as it will tie it all
