I know this is supposed to be wonderful, but it didn't do a lot for me.I found the characters mildly interesting and the plot confusing at best. As usual with Vonnegut, there's an underlying social theme,but I had to work hard to get at it. He's clearly poking fun at organized religion, and perhaps at people who think they can "fix" things and create a "better" society. this has short, punchy sentences and chapters. Yet it is complex and challenging to read. Less about the bomb (as told in the blurb) and more about the pointlessness of life, religion and government.
It feels like the book is about the "spin" p fed to humanity. What they are told and believe - how easily we can be led. Everyone thinks they are leading the lives they want but they re essentially tapped within their own cat's cradle ...more
