2 and a half stars. I was disappointed in this book. The premise is kinda cool. Young, whip smart Frankie attends an upper class co-ed boarding school and wants to make a few points about the outdated patriarchal system it operates on. But the story doesn't pull if off. Frankie no doubt is severely underestimated by her peers and family, but she gets it all wrong. I enjoyed this book, but there was something strange about it that I couldn't put my finger on. The plot includes a new twist on the old story of a girl wanting to belong: in this case, it takes place at a prep school, and the group Frankie wishes she could be part of is a male-only secret society. All her inner turmoil-- wanting to be her own person, but wanting the camraderie of being part of the group -- will ring true to any teenager.
