My only problem with this is that it ended. Review to follow when I have time to sit down and write it properly.

This really grew on me as I read it. I'm not a great fan of books dealing with the dead; in fact, I avoid necromancers, zombies, and anything similar unless I've heard that they're very good. And there were parts of this book that I could've done without for that reason. But I got very involved with the protagonist, Sabriel, and with the other characters who worked with her on her journey to find and rescue her father.

I don't always like fantasy novels but I did like this one. It was not too complex and with my limited imagination for fantasy I still managed to follow everything :) I liked the main character, who is a girl of about 18 with an inheritance of magical powers, and I especially liked the talking cat Mogget. I'm keen to know what happens next and I do plan to read the rest of the trilogy - to be honest that's partly because book 3 fits a challenge that I'm doing, but I do want to read them too, and
